John Hicks, tax specialist

John joined Accutax during the 2008 tax season.  After graduating SUNY Albany, John worked for a small accounting firm in the Capital District handling the accounting needs of a diverse group of small businesses.  But John preferred the freedom -- and challenges -- of owning his own business.   For more than two years he has operated a landscaping service and now returns to Accutax in January to split his time among three of the four tax offices.

John plays guitar, loves to ski, and enjoys traveling.  "You can't beat a good adventure," he said.  He devotes several hours a week to "helping people improve their lives by teaching them about the Bible," he said.
