Neighbors growing up in Rochester, NY, Tom and Paulette have been partners in business and in life for 16 years. Tom graduated from SUNY Empire State College in 1994 with an accounting degree.  "I like numbers," he says.  But he likes helping people, too.  Accutax  served more than 5,000 clients during the 2008 tax season, establishing the firm as the largest independently owned income tax service in the Capital District.

The Kubiaks each dedicate more than 800 hours a year doing volunteer work for their congregation, of which Tom is an elder.  He also serves on the board of directors of a charitable foundation that grants money to local volunteer fire departments and ambulance companies to purchase emergency medical equipment.
